Basics About the 2021 Porsche 911

The 911 is designed and manufactured by German car-makers, Porsche. The original model first graced the roads back in 1963, and over the decades, Porsche has honed the 911 to perfection. The latest 2021 model hit the market in late 2020. The two + two-seater is available in three models: the Carrera, the Targa, and the Turbo. All come with either rear or all-wheel drive and come equipped with a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. Both the Carrera and Turbo come as a coupe or convertible.

Pricing

All 911 models come as either the base model or S.

Carrera

The standard Carrera retails at $99,200, with the convertible at $112,000. It holds a 3.0L twin-turbo engine that can produce 379 horsepower. It can reach a top speed of 182 mph and does 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds. The S has a base cost of $115,100. It holds the same Carrera engine but produces 443 horsepower. Top speed increases to 191 mph, and it can do 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The S upgrades the base 19/20-inch Carrera wheels to 20/21-inch Carrera S Wheels. The four-way adjustable sport seats upgrade to full leather.

Targa

The All-wheel Targa starts at $119,300. It holds the same engine as the Carrera, as does the S, priced at $135,200. The Targa is also available in the limited edition 4S Heritage Design Edition, priced at $181,950. It features unique styling and color options.

Turbo

The 911 Turbo is priced at $170,800 for the coupe and $183,600 for the convertible. It’s packed with a 3.7L flat-six engine that can deliver 572 horsepower. It can go from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds and reaches 199 mph. The Turbo S is $203,500, with the convertible priced at $216,300. It produces a massive 640 horsepower and reaches top speeds of 205 mph, doing 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.

Turbo buyers can take advantage of metallic exterior paint colors at no extra cost. They also get exclusive Turbo wheels, a full leather interior with an array of color options, 14-way adjustable power seats (18 way on the S) with Memory Package, Bose sound system, and a deployable rear spoiler.

New Features

Carrera buyers can now upgrade the interior to the 930 leather package, which was previously exclusive to the Turbo buyers. Python Green is a new addition exterior paint color. There’s also new lightweight, noise insulated glass, a new front-axle lift system, and a digital tire temperature display on the Sport Chrono Package.

The Turbo is all-new for 2021, riding on the 992 series. It is nearly two inches wider, improving stability, handling, and driving dynamics. The engine is new and features larger turbochargers and a more efficient cooling system. There is also improved gearing and advanced suspension and braking.
